Microalgae are at the top of the ocean’s food chain. The omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids found in the algae first reach zooplankton and then larger fish.
The omega-3 fatty acids found in fish actually originate from microalgae. How are microalgae oils produced?
Microalgae have been successfully cultivated in closed, large-scale tanks on land. The production of microalgae oil with very high levels of omega-3 EPA and DHA can be achieved through precise fermentation methods, conserving water and minimizing environmental impact. Very little processing is required, and no environmentally harmful waste is produced.
Oil made from microalgae is an ecological choice that reduces overfishing and thus protects marine ecosystems.
Why are omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids important?

Nutrolin® OMEGA SENSITIVE® contains the same omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids as our fish oil–based Nutrolin® products. However, it does not include the full Nutrolin® nutrient concept—except for natural vitamin E.
If your pet is a senior, we recommend Nutrolin® SENIOR for dogs and Nutrolin® CAT SENIOR for cats to ensure more comprehensive support.
