Nutrolin® HORSE products generally

Questions and answers

The range includes three special oil products for horses. Think about what you are trying to accomplish by giving the horse supplements: there is no “one oil fits all” solution that would meet all fatty acid needs. The animal’s needs change with age and special situations.

Fish is not part of a horse’s natural diet. Why do Nutrolin® HORSE Joint Duo and Nutrolin® HORSE Sport contain fish?
Fish is not part of the natural diet of a horse, but horses also benefit considerably from the omega-3 fatty acids of fish oil. The fish oil used in the production of Nutrolin® oils contains not only EPA and DHA, but also the less common ETA and DPA fatty acids in the omega-3 group.

These omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil control low-grade inflammation in the body. Their effect is more than ten times that of the omega-3 fatty acids included in vegetable oils, such as linseed, rapeseed, hemp, and chia seeds. Fish oil enhances the effects of Vitamin E and joint nutrients by controlling inflammation.

Nutrolin® HORSE Skin & Coat

Nutrolin® HORSE Skin & Coat nourishes and protects the skin and increases the shine of the coat. Helps support the treatment of summer eczema. A unique, patented nutritional oil for horses Contains plenty of linoleic acid, which is an omega-6 fatty acid necessary for the well-being of the skin and coat.

Questions and answers

Horses suffering from summer eczema require meticulous skin care to keep the skin in good condition and resistant against external factors. The essential fatty acids in Nutrolin® HORSE Skin & Coat strengthen the skin’s natural protective mechanism, the skin barrier, which helps keep the skin in better condition against biting midges that cause summer eczema. It is a good idea to start the horse on Nutrolin® HORSE Skin & Coat in the early spring, well before any skin issues begin, to ensure a stronger skin barrier.

Nutrolin® HORSE Sport

Nutrolin® HORSE Sport maintains the flexibility of the musculoskeletal system. It controls inflammation and oxidative stress and also helps the horse recover after exercise. Protects tissues and assists with recovery. A unique combination of Vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids.

Questions and answers

The oils differ in terms of both the omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E. Nutrolin® HORSE Sport is formulated to meet the needs of a horse. In it, astaxanthin has been replaced by a triple amount of Vitamin E, corresponding to the amount of Vitamin E recommended for a sport horse.

Nutrolin® HORSE Joint Duo

Nutrolin® HORSE Joint Duo protects the cartilage and soft tissue during strenuous exercise. It supports the comprehensive treatment of joint problems and improves the quality of life of an older horse.

Protects joints and reduces inflammation in the joint tissue. More effective together: omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin E and medical grade joint nutrients.

Questions and answers

Are adverse effects possible when they are given together? The ingredients used in Nutrolin® HORSE Joint Duo (fish oil, glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM) have high tolerance levels, but you should exercise caution if your horse is on other supplements as well. In particular, the use of herbs which have an anticoagulant effect is not recommended when the horse is on Nutrolin® HORSE Joint Duo.
